>> it's happening in pleasant hill where vallejo police just captured 2 suspects after a wild high speed chase down highway 6 80. good evening everyone. >> it ended with police opening fire. the bullet strike ago school but the worst part is a traffic stop in vallejo. they chase the suspect on to highway 6 80 and the car crashed at fair oaks school. that's where a&m may is with more for us. >> fair oaks elementary saw some action tonight and all that is left of is this remin reminder. these barrier that were mowed over and take a look. headlights from the truck that i just picked up off the grass. now you can look at

the aftermath of what happened. this began in vallejo when police tried to make a stop 2 men inside a truck. the men took off and high speed chase ensued. 60 to 80 miles an hour. they were going down the freeway. throwing things out of the car. then finally they came in front of this school thayer folks elementary and of course the barrier stopped the them. >> at which point the driver ran out of the car. made a gesture to the officer and fired one shot at him and taken into custody without further incident. >>reporter: now i'm told that schools will be in session tomorrow. someone with the school was here earlier and they kind of pulled out a chunk of the side of the wall right there because again one bullet was fared. hit the school and so they had to make sure that was all fixed. again the kids are fine. police found evidence of a theft in that truck. now it's also important to note that so far this year vallejo police have been in

officer involved shootings and 5 fatal. 2 others were wounds sod again, no one was hurt tonight but they did open fire on the suspect who have been taken that custody. live in pleasant hill. >> amma thank you. >> emotional final goodbye to father, son, friend, fallen comrade. thousands of mourners paid their respect today for california highway patrol manikin i don't know young strom killed last week in the line of duty. others crowded along road and highway as the funeral procession moved from napa to the mission church in vacaville. here's 7 news vacaville. here's 7 news reporter johnal stron >> once again a dreaded tragedy brought members of law enforcement together in a place nobody wanted to ever be. this time they were here for 37-year-old young strom officer killed last week, a death that leaves his 4 children only memory of their dad. 17-year-old son alex told how much his father means to him.

>> i never realize i talk to him all the time. that's how proud i am of him. i realize also that bringing him up i kind of felt cooler. >> nearly 4000 people filled the mission church in have been aville. including governor jerry brown and attorney general pamela harris both whom didn't speak. one of the poignant tribute came from his partner carlton there when young strom was murdered last week. it was carlton who killed the gunman who had just ambushed his partner. i know you can hear me. i want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for always being there for me i look forward to seeing you again brother. >>reporter: officer carlton received a standing ovation. looking forward to for years. >> i have been saving things since 2008. shifting things from my, from minnesota here to use and it's all gone. >>reporter: fire at beach wood school broke out just before 4 a.m. menlo park fair department says the cause was a faulty kitchen appliance. flames destroyed not only the third grade classroom but also the school administration offices. >> no one was here so it could have been worse peach wood is private but not the typical private school. it's geared for family who live in low performing public school district. private donation cover most cost. jordan went to beach wood from kindergarten through 8. he came to see the destruction firsthand. >> we only had 18 kids in the class so it was a pretty tight it was like family. and it hurts. >>reporter: fortunately many of the students records were found to be in salvageable condition but mostly all of the
